This is an issue of חק תוכות (Chok Tochos).

A letter in STaM must be formed by writing the letter itself, not by removing ink around it to create the proper shape. If the correction creates the new letter by erasing rather than writing it properly, it is considered forming the letter by scratching, which is invalid.
⚠️ In this case, removing the bottom piece of the ה to create a ד would be forming the letter through erasure, which falls under the problem of Chok Tochos.
