Mezuzot are required for the doorways of each room and hallway in a home or office, including attics, basements, laundry rooms, garages, and walk-in closets (excluding bathrooms). Even small hallways leading to a 6ft x 6ft room require one. Once affixed, a Mezuzah must remain, even if occupants move, unless the newcomers are non-Jews.
