Rabbi Yishai Sarig is married and the father of eight children, residing in the settlement of Yitzhar in Samaria. He holds the qualification for city rabbinate from the Chief Rabbinate of Israel.

Rabbi Sarig is certified as a scribe (Sofer) and proofreader from the Mishmeret STaM Institute and by the late sages, Rabbi Goldberg ZT"L and Rabbi Eliezer Damari ZT"L, as well as, with distinction, from, Rabbi Yaakov Verheftig Shlita. In the field of STaM (Torah scrolls, tefillin, and mezuzahs), he studied under his father, Rabbi Amotz Sarig Shlita, and also Rabbi Zalman Nechemiah ZT"L and the former Sephardic Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Eliyahu Bakshi Doron ZT"L.
Rabbi Sarig is the author of the book Shirat Shiloh, which discusses all the laws of STaM in the sections of Orach Chaim and Even Ha"ezer. His book has received approbations from many rabbis, including, Rabbi Zalman Baruch Melamed Shlita, Rabbi Shlomo Moshe Amar Shlita, and Rabbi Avraham Tzvi Cohen Shlita, rabbi of the Hasidic community in Bnei Brak, and Rabbi Menachem Yehuda Gross, head of the Kodesh Institute for STaM. Rabbi Sarig teaches halacha in the field of STaM to rabbis in Israel and worldwide.
In addition to his expertise in STaM, Rabbi Sarig authored a book on kidney donation from the living and is involved with kidney donors and recipients through the Matnat Chaim organization.
Rabbi Sarig is well-versed in the ways of halachic decision-making in various rabbinic courts and is consulted for writing Torah scrolls and providing advice to prominent rabbis from both the religious Zionist and Haredi communities.
